You should only be ineligible to vote if one of the following is true:

1. You are not a citizen of the United States of America.

2. You are not 18 years old or older.

3. You have not been a resident of Minnesota for at least 20 days prior to the election.

4. You have been convicted of treason or a felony. Convicted felons can vote as long as they are not currently incarcerated.

5. Another special circumstance bars you from eligibility to vote.

If none of these are true, you should be eligible to vote in Minnesota! Congratulations!

Minnesota does not require voters to present an ID while at the polls. However, if you are registering to vote or have not voted in the last 4 years, you will need proof of residency.

Minnesota offers a wide variety of voting options. Voters can choose to vote early by mail or in person. Absentee ballots are also available by request.
